The hills are alive (+ making me stressed) | Sinaia, Romania

Hello Travel Friend!

Greetings from a smaller town in the mountains of Romania, Sinaia! How did I find this unique mountain spot you ask? Somehow in this crazy world of the internet I came across this Digital Nomad Experience + figured I hadn't been to Romania yet + one of my 2024 goals was to attend 2 conferences in the year, making this the first of 2!

Sinaia is stunning. It was giving me a bit of Banff small mountain town vibes, but with sporadic, intense but short lived rain falls. I didn't realize how much being in the mountains (outside of the city of Bucharest) with fresh air + green hills around me, would bring a sense of calm for my nervous system.

The week was a combination of exploring the Sinaia mountains, castles, eating traditional Romanian cuisine + talking with other nomads + entrepreneurs about their journeys, business blockages + how one can build a community in this changing lifestyle.

I ended the week feeling "positively stressed" (the only way I'm able to put it into words) thinking heavily about combining my freelance work as a bookkeeper (for individuals + small businesses) with my travel content. My intention is to bring value + transparency to the travel space about spending on the road, as well as help you travel guilt-free + not return from travel or vacation in debt.

To not cause a complete mental burnout, I'll be taking a mini vacation in Greece (no travelling long-term isn't a full-time vacation) + let my brain recharge with these thoughts. So a heads up there won't be a newsletter next week!

Ciao for now,

Anna
